Fold a piece of paper in half and on the fold line write your name. The students write a 6 sentence paragraph without repeating -any- word twice, including contractions such as is not, and isn't.

Write a poem about being able to see-through something. Write about an eruption of a volcano. Write about witnessing two people get in an argument with each other.

Or how to structure them so that they grip readers and make them turn the next page. On the outside of the box they place a collage of pictures and words from magazines, etc.

Write something that would motivate others to workout and exercise. How did the leopard get its spots. An account of what they would like to be famous for, and why. Describe what it is and why it makes them feel safe.

You can try on different lives, become a different person for a while, transport yourself to another place or time. Take some time to visit a nearby museum with your journal. Write using the slogan or line from an ad.

Write about a piece of furniture in your home. Take inspiration from a night sky. Write about meeting someone on an airplane and a conversation you might have. Now, I remember this even though I was only three, but I've heard the story so many times it's hard to tell where my memory ends and the story begins.

How can you work with that, or change it up a little while still giving the reader what they expect. Did you keep that promise. Choose an element and write a poem or story that uses that word in one of the lines. To get food, you of course need money, which many writers think about all the time.

Your character is being lectured by someone in a position of authority, how do they react.
